Making good Mondays is like making coffee -

The week is before us - like the coffee pot - waiting to brew. Making it good is a matter of choice, luck, creativity, patience and acceptance of the outcome.

The Mystery of Community

Myth is the public dream, and dream is the private myth. - Joseph Campbell

The Mystery of Community

Our family lives together on a small fragile globe.

Tight borders, territorial is the mark of xenophobes.

We are in; you are out. ' Tis positively claustrophobic.

There's enough room for all, if we could only probe.

Communities come together out of common needs.

Food and shelter - vital to Venezuelans and Swedes.

Eye contact, a handshake, willingness to intercede,

are the coins we spend making community succeed.

The mystery of community is so hard to decipher.

Cohesion, common ground is what we are after.

We have more sameness than difference; laughter

jiggles each belly, warms the same heart everafter.

You and I are sisters and brothers under the skin.

We all use the same muscles to make our grins.

Cousins world wide whince when we bark a shin.

And we secretly or publicly regret when we sin.

How very sweet and lovely, betmo. I am so appreciative of your sensitivity and thoughtfulness.
And I love my new name. Joe renamed me Gee, Carol! and now I get to be Polly Merry. I'll be like the bank robber with 17 aliases. Thanks, my friend.
