IN ANOTHER LIFE I WAS AN ELEPHANT.
Eldest of five babies, I was confident.
Our wise Mama elephant implanted
Contentment.
MY MOTHER RAISED ME AND MY SIBLINGS
Well. Patiently taught me to tie my shoestrings,
Pushed me back and forth in my swing.
She's heaven-sent.
MY MOTHER IS THE KIND EVERYONE
Would like - when all is said & done.
She's a bit old fashioned, homespun,
Self-evident.
MY MOTHER TURNS 90 THIS YEAR
She is a person of such good cheer
That we four watch her in sheer
Amazement.
