Jim Marrs - investigative journalist.  Conspiracy theorist who wrote about the JFK assassination. Oliver Stone's movie used his material.  Now he writes about aliens.

Sandra Cisneros - author of Caramelo, one of the top novels of 2002.

Jim Hightower - Populist, humorist, blogger, former Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

Liz Carpenter - friend of LBJ and Ladybird, author  Under President Johnson she served as executive assistant to the vice president and later as White House staff director and press secretary to First Lady Claudia Taylor Johnson. President Jimmy Carter appointed her Assistant Secretary of Education for Public Affairs. She wrote the best selling book Ruffles and Flourishes, 

Kinky Friedman - character turned candidate for Texas governor.  Humorist, author, musician, friend of Willie's and a "Texas Jewish cowboy."  

Larry McMurtry - best selling author of several Texana novels, one of his books was made into the movie, The Last Picture Show.

Dan Jenkins - best selling sports writer and author of Dead Solid Perfect and Semi Tough (made into a movie featuring Burt Reynolds).
