Ice is nice stuff - generally. If it is its normal self - cool, serene, clear and smooth - it hosts skaters and lugers. It demands respect from the mere mortals speeding on its surface. And in the right hands - or feet - it can be the stuff of glory.
It can be very hard to get along with, if you are an impatient car, or a big fat guy. Ice can mean a slip-sliding car crash or a fall-through if it is too thin. Ice can also cause a plane crash if it sticks to wings - too thick and too long. Ice can shut down a whole town, if it has its stormy way, or a beautiful skater's Olympic dreams.
Godspeed, Michelle. You gave it your best.
