This composite photo is of Titan, the big moon of Saturn. To be able to see an actual image such as this seems quite magical to me. Science fiction was one of my favorite types of reading while I was growing up. I think it the "kid" part of me that keeps me interested in news about the exploration of outer space.
My family and I watched the first tentative steps into space by NASA, learned of the first heroes, cried when the first astronauts died. I heard the "boom" when the spacecraft disintegrated over the Southwest, killing all on board.
To my mind the space program must have a future. We must continue to fund explorations in space, both manned and unmanned flights. This is my plug for that. If you can let your elected representatives know it is ok with you for them to spend your tax dollars in this way.
Myth is the public dream, and dream is the private myth. - Joseph Campbell
