City mice and country mice are thought to be very different. The old children's story is really about people, not mice, however. But what we know is that it is not all that simple.
And in many ways country and city folks are very different. City folks like lots of people around; they like the hustle and bustle of the crowds of the streets and in the buildings. They might like to visit the country for a time, but soon long to get back home to the city.
Country folks like the quiet of the countryside. They like a little elbow room, without too many crowds around. They might like the excitement of the city for a little while, but soon long to return to the place that seems to have the peace they crave.
But the country "mouse" and the city "mouse" are more alike than you might think. They both love their kinfolks. They both want a comfortable place to live and good food to eat. They need sky and flowers and trees. They want a fair shake and meaningful work to do. They both like nice things, and probably love animals.
In other words they are probably more alike than different. They just need to get better acquainted.
