Photo of possible ice formation on Mars by NASA

This photo is of melting ice on earth.
The difference between the amount of ice on Mars and on Earth is quite striking. Mars is much older than our own planet, and much more parched. But we cannot afford a big ice melt on Earth. That would have a devastating effect on all living things. We do not yet know if there is anything alive on Mars. And that is one of the reasons we want to go there. Every bit of space exploration gives us new information about where we live, and how and why we live.
A quote gives us wisdom about why we must take care of planet earth. "Myth is the public dream, and dream is the private myth. - Joseph Campbell" The myth is that we do not have to worry about climate change. We have to be dreaming to believe that. We'd best wake up to the facts and begin to control earth's greenhouse gasses.
