This intriguing and lovely photo is carried in several locations referring to Grace Paley. My curiosity prompted a bit of investigation. I think the mystery is solved: According to Rea*,
Grace Paley died recently. It seems she would have been a woman after my own heart. And I just discovered her. However it is not too late. Her legacy lives on in a couple of recent tributes.

"In 1989,From the New York State Writers Institute, comes this useful description of Paley,
then New York State Governor Mario Cuomo conferred upon her the honor of becoming the first official New York State writer."
Actively involved in anti-war, feminist and anti-nuclear movements, Ms. Paley has been a member of the War Resisters' League, Resist, and Women's Pentagon Action, and was one of the founders of the Greenwich Village Peace Center in 1961; she regards herself as a "somewhat
combative pacifist and cooperative anarchist."
