The week is before us - like the coffee pot - waiting to brew. Making it good is a matter of choice, luck, creativity, patience and acceptance of the outcome.

Old Friends



AN EVENT happened last night. A number of old friends got together.
Many of us had not seen each other for a very long time. We assembled to listen to one of us talk about women's history. We loved the opportunity to see faces, remember almost forgotten names, remember old times and catch up on current times.
We are feminists, activists, community leaders, workers and retirees. We belong to women's organizations that have made a difference in our urban community for many decades. A number of us have been acquainted since the early 1970's. We have much in common with each other:

  • Progressive politically
  • Outspoken and articulate
  • Issue oriented and thoughtful
  • Individually funny, impassioned, serious, or dedicated in small or large part

That's us up there, without so many men around. It was a great evening!
