Myth is the public dream, and dream is the private myth. - Joseph Campbell
The name is Jacqueline Bouvier, Jackie Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Jackie O., The First Lady, the Queen of Camelot.
Mrs. Kennedy was Caroline and John-John's mom, Jack's wife, Rose's daughter-in-law, Teddy and Robert's sister-in-law, and Aristotle's widow. And a dozen versions of the above.
And the nation misses her and all the Kennedys who are gone. We are somehow less well-off without them. We are poorer because of the tragedy of assassinations, plane crashes and cancer. It feels like the nicest section of town has been hit with a hurricane.
But I am glad they were on my path when they were. The family enriched the nation in immeasureable ways.
